Consistently Implementing the SDGs, SG Wins 3 Awards at the 2022 ISDA Awards in Jakarta

Rembang, November 23, 2022 – PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) made another notable achievement by winning three awards at the 2022 Indonesian SDGs Award (ISDA) by the Corporate Forum for CSR Development (CFCD) at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Mega Kuningan, South Jakarta (22/11).

The appreciation was given in the Gold category of the best social and economic empowerment as well as community engagement strengthening programs through Rumah BUMN Rembang to enhance the company's reputation. 

The Head of Tegaldowo Kundari Village won the best local hero category for the village partner program, which plays an active role in community involvement and the development of PTSG. Meanwhile, the chairperson of the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) won the second-best local hero category for the active role program in encouraging the successful use of yards and local food development.   

The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin, explained in his remarks that sustainable development becomes one of the government's concerns in realizing Indonesia Emas (Golden Indonesia) 2045. That being said, the roles of all parties, from private companies and SOEs, are essential in promoting and carrying out sustainable development.

"The Government welcomes the 2022 ISDA as a form of appreciation to all parties for sustainable development. We expect this award to encourage companies to compete in CSR programs and focus on sustainable development," said Amin.

Dharma Sunyata, the Senior Manager of Communication and CSR of PTSG, pointed out that this achievement was a testament to the consistency and success of the company in realizing shared added value between the company and the community in developing a sustainable business system based on the global goals, namely the SDGs.

"We are grateful and proud of the appreciation we received. These awards prove that the sustainable development program of Semen Gresik is nationally recognized. It certainly encourages the company to achieve more optimal values in community engagement," stated Sunyata in a press release on Wednesday (23/11).

The ISDA Awards 2022 was the fifth award to appreciate companies or institutions contributing to achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the Corporate Forum for CSR Development (CFCD), Suharman Noerman, asserted that the 2022 ISDA Awards were attended by 103 companies with various backgrounds in business fields. It covered 223 best practices and 30 individuals comprising directors, general managers, managers, CD staff, partners, and local heroes who have contributed to the SDGs' activities.

One of the recipients of the best local hero award, Nikmatus Zahroatin, the Head of the PKK Mobilization Team from Ngampel Village, expressed her gratitude for the award given. "It is an honor to be trusted by PTSG. I hope the collaboration will continue to be well maintained to benefit the community in the future," she concluded.
